Solar Keratoses

  • Also known as actinic keratoses or sunspots
  • Can be precursors for skin cancers squamous cell carcinomas (SCC’s)
  • The conversion rate is quite low at ~5%
  • When there are one or two they can be treated with liquid nitrogen or cryotherapy
  • When they are widespread we use a cream for regional treatment such as Efudix/Vitamin D combination
