Targets cells with a high turnover rate which can be premalignant
Used to treat solar keratosis which can be a precursor or pre-cancer for Squamous Cell Carcinomas
Also used for superficial squamous cell Carcinoma also known as Bowens Disease, Squamous Cell Carcinoma in situ (SCCis) and Intra Epidermal Carcinoma (IEC) – these 4 terms are for the same condition
Use a thin smear daily for one month, usually twice daily for 2 weeks, cutting down to once daily for 2nd two weeks depending on the amount of inflammation
